About this race
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is Africa's first Abbott World Marathon Major, the eighth event to join the global series alongside Tokyo, Boston, London, and other majors. The 42.2km road marathon takes place on 23 May 2027, starting and finishing alongside DHL Stadium in Cape Town. The weekend also includes 10km and 5km Peace Runs, and three Table Mountain trail runs at 43km, 22km, and 11km distances. Entry is via ballot application.
