About this race
The aQuellé Midmar Mile is South Africa's and the world's largest open water swimming event, held annually at Midmar Dam near Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. The 54th edition will take place on 13th and 14th February 2027, with Charity Challenge events on 11th and 12th February 2027. Swimmers compete over a one-mile (1.6 km) open water course across the dam.
